Part 1: Install Horizon Connection Server 8 2013 (8.2)

For a production environment Horizon Connection Server you should creare a Windows Virtual Machine with at least 10 GB of RAM and 4 vCPU. You can check the Hardware Requirements for Horizon Connection Server.

Horizon Connection Server supports Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019. For more details you can have a look to Supported Operating Systems and MSFT Active Directory Domain Functional Levels for VMware Horizon 8 2006 and later.

Starting from Horizon 2006 (8.0) Flash is no longer needed.

Keep in mind that the first Horizon Connection Server must be a Standard Server. Others could be Replicas.

First of all you need to download Horizon 2103 Connection Server.

Leave the default installation folder or choose one different.

The first server must be a Standard Server. Check the flag to isntall HTML access and which protocol you want to use.

Enter a recovery password.

Select the group you want to authorize as Horizor Administrator and click Next.

Unflag customer experience (CEIP) if you don’t want to partecipate and click Next.

We are deploying Horizon Connection Server on ours server and not on cloud so just choose General and click Install.

When the installation is finished you can access the web console at: https://localhost/admin
