vRealize Log Insight is an intelligent log management for infrastructure and applications. It is a scalable solution with actionable dashboards, sophosticated analytics and broad third-party extensibility across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
Fist of all you have to download the .ova Virtual Appliance from My VMWare, then deploy OVF Template as follow.
Select the .ova file and click Next
Give a name to the virtual machine, select the cluter/folder and Next.
Select the node or the resource pool and click Next.
Review details and click Next.
Accept EULA and click Next.
Choose the deployment size you need and click Next.
Select the destination datastore and click Next.
Select the network and IP protocol and click Next.
Set password, hostname and scroll down.
Set: Default Gateway, Domain Name, Domain Search Path, Domain Name Servers, Network IP, Netmask and click Next
Review details and click Finish
When the deploy is finished power on the VM. The appliance need a couple of minutes for starting. So wait untill you see this screen.
Now we need to start the setup process so open a browser and point at https://<appliace_name> || <IP>
Because of it’s the first installation we will start a new deployment
then provide an email associated to the admin account, and password.
Add the license key and click ADD LICENSE.
Click Save and continue.
Insert mail server and check or not the CEIP.
configure NTP settings.
Configure SMTP settings.
If you don’t have a truster SSL cert you can skip the configuration.
Finish
The next step is to configure the vSphere Integration.
Accept the untrusted cert.
When done you should see your vCenter added.
Now you can access to the dashboard and you can enjoy Log Insight.
